No Pain, No Gain
A SAMUEL TURCOTTE FILM
NOTHING IS STRONGER THAN THE MIND
It’s been over twenty years since Hollywood has seen a film featuring the crazed world of body building and fitness. From the 1977 documentary, Pumping Iron, that spurred Arnold Schwarzenegger’s body building career to the upcoming feature film, No Pain No Gain. Starring renowned body builders Gus Malliarodakis and Dennis Newman, No Pain No Gain follows the story of Mike Zorillo (Malliarodakis) a body builder from Ohio who travels to Los Angeles to beat his arch rivals, Jake Steel (Newman). Determined to win the “Mr. West Coast” competition Zorillo sets out to prove that hard work and natural sciences far outweigh the use of steroids and faces true to life situations in the body building world.
Writer/producer/director, Samuel Turcotte uniquely portrays body building in fun, colorful, and engaging light. A body builder himself, Turcotte says, “This film is the realization of a lifelong dream. I have been involved in the world of bodybuilding sine I was 15, and for years have wanted to create a film about this fascinating and misunderstood sport. Bodybuilders have long been grossly misrepresented in the media, and my film gives a more balanced, realistic portrayal.”
No Pain No Gain has received great recognition from Sáo Paulo International Film Festival, Palm Beach International Film Festival, and won the Silver Award for Best Director First Feature Film at Houston Worldfest. It is set to be released in the fall of 2005.
